Battlegrounds¶
Battlegrounds (BG) are team-based PvP matches where two teams compete to complete objectives and earn Valor Badges.
Join Battlegrounds from the Battlegrounds NPC in Prontera: /navi prontera 163/171.
- Check the NPC to see the currently active BG, join a match, or browse the BG Shop.
- You can also use
@bgto join the BG queue from anywhere. - Each mode has a minimum number of players that must queue before the round will start.
- Once enough players have joined, you will automatically be placed into the match and warped to the BG map.
- After the match, you will be returned to your previous location, not your save point.
Warning
Use caution when joining with @bg — you will be automatically teleported once a match starts.
BG Happy Hour¶
Battlegrounds have 3 daily Happy Hours (Server Time - GMT):
- 04:00
- 12:00
- 20:00
During Happy Hour, Valor Badge rewards are doubled. Use Happy Hour to get the most out of your Battleground matches!

Battleground Modes¶
Tierra Gorge¶
Destroy the opposing team's Food Storage (also called the Storehouse).
- Break through enemy Barricades to reach their base.
- Barricades can be rebuilt during the match.
- Capture the Neutrality Flag to gain a forward position.
- The team that destroys the enemy Food Storage wins.
Flavius¶
Destroy the opposing team's Crystal.
- Defeat the Crystal's guardians before attacking it.
- Destroying a Crystal scores a point.
- The first team to reach 2 points wins.
Team Deathmatch¶
Reach the kill score before the other team.
- Defeating a player scores a kill for your team.
- Deaths are important, so stay with your team.
- If the timer expires, the team with the higher score wins. A draw only happens when the scores are exactly tied.
Emperium Rush¶
Hold the Emperium the longest.
- Emperiums in BG take only 1 damage from any source.
- You cannot damage an Emperium your team already holds to recapture it.
Krieger von Midgard (KvM)¶
Annihilate all opponents.
- Each team's score is the number of players still alive, and every death lowers it.
- A team wins at once when the opposing team has no players left.
- If the match timer expires, the team with more survivors wins. Equal counts are a draw.
- Foods stay active when the match starts.
- When you enter, a Battle Therapist spawns at both team bases offering Heal, Blessing, Increase AGI and Storage. It despawns once the match starts.
Capture the Flag¶
Carry the enemy flag back to your team's base to score.
- First team to 2 captures wins.
- If the 15 minute timer expires, the team with the highest score wins.
- Picking up or returning a flag requires a 3 second channel.
- Only one player can interact with a flag at a time.
- Touching your own dropped flag returns it instantly.
- Dying drops the flag where you died.
- A dropped flag returns to its base after 60 seconds.
- A flag immediately returns to base if its carrier logs out or leaves the match.
- Respawns happen in 15 second waves.
- Players waiting to respawn are healed and buffed before being warped back to the front line.
While carrying a flag:
- You cannot attack or use skills.
- Move speed is locked at
175. - Increase AGI and speed potions have no effect.
- A marker is displayed above the carrier.
Time & Space Anomaly¶
Deal more damage to the Anomaly than the opposing team.
- The match lasts about 8 minutes. Each team spawns in a separate room, with a 20 second preparation timer.
- The Anomaly is an MVP that changes race and element every 2 minutes, up to Stage 3.
- Your damage increases by 20% at Stage 2 and 40% at Stage 3.
- The team that deals the most total damage to the Anomaly wins.
- PvP is enabled between the teams.
Rewards¶
Battlegrounds reward Valor Badges (item ID 7829) based on the match result.

The reward depends on when you joined the match:
- First third of the match: full reward.
- Second third: about 66% of the reward.
- Final third: about 33% of the reward.
Happy Hour and Maroll's Blessing increase these rewards.
Maroll's Blessing¶
Maroll's Blessing provides a reward bonus for players who have not participated in Battlegrounds for a while.
If you have been away from BG for some time, you may receive additional rewards when your match ends.
BG Shop¶
The BG Shop is available through the Battlegrounds NPC in Prontera. Most gear costs Valor Badges, and supplies cost zeny or Valor Badges.
- Everything in the shop can be traded.
- BG gear can be used in BG, PvE and PvP. It cannot be used in WoE or KoE.
- Glorious gear can only be used in BG.
- BG consumables and supplies can be used in BG and PvP. They cannot be used in PvE, WoE or KoE.
- Always check the item description for its usage restrictions and limitations.

Battleground Changes¶
